Everything about getting an appliance fixed here
Get Scotty connects British Columbia homeowners and businesses with independent repair technicians. Here is how the matching works for both sides.
For homeowners and businesses
What does it cost to post a job?
Nothing. Posting your problem and receiving proposals is free. You only ever pay the technician you choose, and their service-call fee is shown before you accept.
What is a service-call fee?
It is what a technician charges to come out and diagnose the problem. Some offer it free, others charge a set amount. It is an offer to attend and investigate — not a quote for the repair itself.
How fast will I hear back?
Response times depend on technician availability. Your urgency is shown with the request, but it does not guarantee service at a particular time.
What should I include in my post?
The appliance, what it is doing wrong, and a photo or short video if you can. A model number sticker photo helps a technician arrive with the right part.
When do I share my address?
Only after you accept a proposal. Until then technicians see your city and postal code so they can judge travel, nothing more.
Can I post for a restaurant or commercial kitchen?
Yes. Choose Business when posting and it goes to technicians who have said they take commercial work — fryers, gas ranges, walk-in coolers and commercial refrigeration.

How do I get jobs?
Create a listing with your city, travel radius and the appliances you service. Matching jobs appear in your open-jobs feed and you send a proposal with your fee and availability.
Do I set my own price?
Always. You set the service-call fee on every proposal, from free to whatever you charge. Get Scotty never sets or takes a cut of your repair pricing.
What happens when a customer picks me?
Contact details are revealed to both of you and you take it from there — call or text directly. Scheduling, the repair and payment happen between you and the customer.
Do I need to be licensed?
You are responsible for meeting any legal or trade requirements for work you accept. Credentials on listings are self-reported and are not verified by Get Scotty.
Still stuck with a dead appliance?
Post it in two minutes and let the pros come to you.
